All men shall climb the ladder of death. The ladder, this symbol is a reminder for all men/women that death is an inevitable consequence of life. It also serves to recall that it is the spritual necessity to live well to qualify to be a worthy ancestor in the Hereafter. The symbol is recognized as a symbol of the ultimate end of life for every human. The rungs of the ladder are representive of the stages of life. The ladder speaks to the unavoidability of escaping ( that is, not climbing) this ladder. Its literal translation means that all people, regardless of rank in life, must climb the "ladder of death." Human Beings go through childhood, adollesence, adulthood, old age, and death. No one can escape these stages of ( Death ) life. Deaths always the last rung of that ladder. Death is the transition from one life to the next. In most Religions, when a person dies it is believed that he or she continues to live on in the hereafter, commonly referred to as the spirit world. Death is ineviatible. It is the schism between the present physical world and the spirital world of the hereafter. In cosmology, death is the space between the visible and the invisible, between the present and the future. Physical death is not the end of existence because the human body is in essence and encapsulated spirit. For forthy days after death, our ancestors ( Elders ) prepared for the final ceremonies of social adjustment in the lineage of "the Tribes." This forthy day period allows the soul to travel up " the Hill. " From this Hill the spirit will ascend to heaven ( Paradise) by climbing the Proverbal " Ladder of Death. "
